Arrest made after man hit with glass outside Beccles pub




Police have arrested a man on suspicion of assault after another man was struck in the face with a glass outside a Beccles pub.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses following the incident, which happened on Sunday, August 30, just after 8pm outside the King's Head pub on New Market.

They said the victim, a man in his 30s, was walking out of the beer garden when he was followed by a man and was allegedly struck in the face with a glass.

The victim received treatment at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston-on-Sea.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries until September 28.

Police would like to speak anyone who has not already spoken to officers, who witnessed what happened or who may have filmed the incident on their phone.
