Ford Fiesta driver punched through car window after road rage incident with Iveco van on Beccles' Ellough Road

A man was left with bruises on his face after he was punched in a road rage incident in Beccles last month.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault on Ellough Road which happened between 11.30am and 11.45am on Thursday, May 20.

Officers said a 20-year-old man was driving a black Ford Fiesta and attempted to overtake a van, but pulled back.

The van then stopped and a passenger started to get out. The Fiesta driver drove away, overtaking vehicles at a roundabout.

But he then stopped at traffic lights and the van stopped again and the passenger got out of the vehicle.

The offender is then alleged to have kicked the wing mirror of the Fiesta, before grabbing and punching the victim through an open window, which caused bruises to his face.

The suspect is described as white, between the ages of 25 and 30, of a broad build, with tattoos on his arm.

He had short hair and a beard. The van was believed to be an Iveco.

Anyone who has information, such as dash-cam recordings of the incident, is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101, quoting crime reference 37/28196/21.
