Fire crews and UK Power Networks called to property in Mountbatten Road, Bungay, near Beccles, after smoke seen





Fire crews were called to a town property after smoke issued from electrical equipment.

Two engines were alerted to the incident in Mountbatten Road, Bungay, near Beccles, at 12.36pm.

On arrival it was discovered there was no actual fire, with the smoke issuing from electrical equipment.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said UK Power Networks (UKPN) arrived at the scene to isolate power to the house, with crews remaining at the property to ensure the scene was safe.

A UKPN spokesperson said: “Engineers were called by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service to a house in Mountbatten Road, Bungay, following reports of smoke at the property.

“A team arrived on site at 1.50pm to investigate the incident.”
