Man in his 20s arrested following burglary in Rigbourne Hill, Beccles, involving two stolen air rifles

A man in his 20s has been arrested following a burglary where two air rifles were stolen.

Last Wednesday, armed police were called after a member of the public reported suspicious activity in Rigbourne Hill, Beccles, before receiving a further call reporting a burglary in progress at an address in the same street.

It was initially reported that a firearm was stolen, which was later clarified as two air rifles as well as an Xbox games console.

Two males were seen to leave the address.

Officers including members of the roads and armed response team attended the incident and two air rifles were subsequently found by police.

Police have now confirmed they have arrested a man from Beccles in connection with the incident.

He has been bailed until August 1.

The second suspect has yet to be arrested, and investigations remain ongoing.
