Man in 30s dies following crash involving Renault Clio and Volkswagen Touareg on A12 at Blythburgh near Southwold

A man in his 30s has died after a crash on the A12 near Southwold yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a collision between a grey Renault Clio and a brown Volkswagen Touareg on the A12 northbound at Blythburgh, near the A1095, at about 6.50pm.

The driver of the Renault Clio, a man in his 30s, had to be removed from the vehicle.

He suffered life-threatening injuries and died while being transported to hospital.

The Touareg driver, a man in his 70s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out.

Anyone who saw the collision or who was driving in the area at the time and has a dashcam in their vehicle is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference CAD 311 of 4 August.
