Person hospitalised following autogyro crash in Ellough

One person has been hospitalised after an aircraft crash in Ellough, near Beccles, this morning.

Emergency services were called to the crash at Ellough Airfield on Benacre Road just after 10.30am, when an autogyro crashed as it attempted to take off.

Fire crews from Lowestoft South, North Lowestoft and Beccles stabilised the vehicle and isolated the fuel.

An ambulance, two rapid response cars and an air ambulance attended the incident and one patient was transported to Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital for further care.
