St Benet’s Catholic Primary School in Ringsfield Road, Beccles, to host car boot sale this weekend
A car boot sale planned for a school field is thought to be a town’s first ever event of its kind.
The Beccles car boot will run from St Benet’s Catholic Primary School in Ringsfield Road on Sunday, with the money raised going towards a new green space for the school and trips for children.
Beccie Amer, chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which is running the event, said: “One of the main reasons we set up the car boot was to raise the profile of the school. We are quite a small school tucked away in the corner of Beccles.
“We also realised there isn’t a car boot in Beccles, and none of us in the PTA remembers there ever being one.”
The plan is for the money to go towards a wild garden area on the school grounds, as well as school trips. If it is successful, the PTA may organise more car boot sales.
The sale will start at 8am, with free entry. Beccie said there has been lots of interest in the sale, though there are a few pitches still available – those interested can contact Beccie via email: becisim@hotmail.co.uk.
