Where to see fireworks displays across Suffolk (and just into Norfolk) this season




Following two years of pandemic disruption, fireworks night is back with a bang in 2022 and a host of events are lined up across the region.

We have compiled a list of the best displays sure to light up your month.

Jimmy's Farm, low-bang fireworks display, November 6, from 4pm

Head to Wherstead for the Jimmy's Farm low-bang fireworks display this year.

With tickets costing £5 adults and £2.50 children (members go free), the display has been vigorously tested to ensure the farm's animals will not be affected – it could be the perfect display for those who do not enjoy the typical loud bangs at fireworks displays.

A sensory room will be set up in the Roundhouse for anyone wishing to take time out during the evening.

Framlingham Sound and Light Spectacular, Framlingham Castle, November 4, early show 5.30pm, late show 8pm

A special Framlingham Sound and Light Spectacular within the atmospheric venue of the castle, including music, lights and mobile art projections, is a new and fun celebration this year.

The early evening show is designed for families, while the later one is aimed at an older crowd.

Tickets cost £12-£13.20 for adults, £24-£26.40 for a family tickets and children under three are free.

Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club Fireworks, November 4, gates open 6pm (fireworks 7.30pm)

As well as fireworks, this popular rugby club event will also offer fairground rides, a barbecue, bars and food.

Tickets are available on the gate only and cost £5 per person – under fives free – and limited parking is available at £5 per vehicle.

Nayland Bonfire and Fireworks, Nayland Village Hall playing field, November 5, 6.15pm (display starts at 7pm)

As well as fireworks, this bonanza will also offer hot dogs, soft drinks, mulled wine, beer, fish and chips and ice cream.

Tickets will not be available for purchase at the venue.

Long Melford Big Night Out, Melford Hall, November 11, gates open 6pm (displays start 7.30pm)

The Big Night Out's18-minute firework spectacle goes off with a series of thunderous bangs as rockets soar into the darkness, while the event is also host to a large fair and lots food outlets.

Marham House Care Home Community Firework Display, Bury St Edmunds, November 4, from 6pm (fireworks 7pm)

Marham House Care Home, in Simcoe Road, is offering this free display, with glow sticks available for children in return for donations to the residents' summer house.

June and Trev's Hell's Kitchen will be on site selling hot food.

Heveningham Hall Fireworks, November 5, gates open 4.30pm

Alongside the traditional fireworks, bonfire, fairground and food, this event will also offer performances from acts including Scouting for Girls and The Kopycat Killers, as well as other entertainment.

Tickets (online purchase in advance only) cost £10 adults, £5 ages two-14 and under twos free.

Great Barton Freedom Church fireworks, November 6, gates open 4pm (display starts 6.30pm)

Tickets will be available in advance for this ever-popular Great Barton display, which this year welcomes ICE café selling food while hot drinks will be available from Freedom Café.

Thetford Firework Spectacular, Barnham Cross Common Playing Fields, November 6, 3-9pm

This Thetford event includes a family fun day, live music and two fireworks displays (the first at 5.45pm, for children, and the second at 7.45pm, for adults), along with sideshows, fairground rides, food vendors and more.

Entry is free, but no alcohol, sparklers or fireworks can be brought on site.

Car parking is available at Barnham Common, £3 donation per car.

Ipswich Fireworks Festival, Suffolk Showground, Trinity Park, November 5

Doors to this family-friendly fireworks display open at 3.30pm, before live acts Toploader and Liberty X take to the stage, along with other entertainment followed by a fireworks finale.

There will also be a 'funzone', food and bar.

Tickets are £15 adults (early bird price), £5 children and under fives free.

Rendlesham Fireworks, Jubilee Park, November 6, gates open at 3pm

Fireworks, food, bar and a fun fair are on the agenda at the Rendlesham event, with a display starting at 6.30pm.

The event is free and open to all, but donations are welcome to go towards next year's display.

Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club Firework Extravaganza, Gunton Park, November 5, 6-9pm

Fireworks, food and drink, funfair and entertainment are promised at this Lowestoft event, with tickets costing £5 (plus booking fee) – under fives free.

Christchurch Park Ipswich Fireworks Display, November 5, 6-10pm

The Christchurch Park fireworks are back, with a spectacular display costing more than £25,000.

The sequence will be accompanied by a mega-mix soundtrack of chart-topping hits with a royal and regal theme, along with a tribute to the Queen.

There will also be live entertainment, locally-sourced street food stalls, a bar, fairground and children's funfair and bonfire.

Adult tickets cost £9.95, children £7.95 and under fives free.
