Bury St Edmunds bike dealership Krazy Horse to launch new curry menu under former Chevington Greyhound chef Kris Young
A Bury St Edmunds bike dealership is starting a ‘brilliant new chapter’ with the launch of an Indian menu at its café.
Krazy Horse, in Lamdin Road, recently reopened its kitchen under new chef Kris Young, whose family used to run the Chevington Greyhound.
Kris brings with him a wealth of experience, having trained in India, alongside dozens of family recipes.
Kris said: “My family took over the Greyhound when I was four, so I’ve grown up around curry and when I smell it, it reminds me of home.
“I’ve spent time in India, around the Himalayas, where my uncle lives, and in Delhi. I didn’t know how authentic their recipes were until we went there.
“This is isn’t the kind of food you’d find in an Indian restaurant, it’s home cooking. I make everything from scratch.
“This is a brilliant new chapter for the café and it will be nice to bring Krazy Horse customers and regulars from the pub together.”
Krazy Horse will continue to run its traditional menu, including breakfasts.
The dealership began life in 1995 under owner Paul Beamish and also runs showrooms in Welling, London, and Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
The Bury showroom is run by Ben Godfrey.
Stephanie Taylor, head of events and marketing at Krazy Horse, said the team wanted to take the chance to give its kitchen a makeover.
She said: “This is our 30th year in business, so it is nice to be given a chance to reinvent ourselves.
“The launch will be exciting and we are looking forward to welcoming both regular and new customers.
“People know it’s coming and we’ve had positive reception from people eager to try our curries.”
The curry house launch event is invite only.
Kris said the menu would be available from September 25.
