Pupils from Bury St Edmunds school say thank you to police

Pupils from one Suffolk school have made special thank you cards to ‘express their gratitude’ to members of the police force.

The students from Howard Community Primary School, Bury St Edmunds, have been covering the topic of kindness in class, and thanking those tasked with ‘keeping them safe’ seemed the best choice.

The children had a visit from Jessica Mcleod, PCSO School Liaison Officer, who went in to receive the cards.

The schoolchildren have been covering kindness in class, which sparked their idea to make the cards.

She said: “The team are in agreement that these thank you cards are a very positive message, through what has been very difficult times for everyone."

She added: “A ‘Thank you’ may seem a small gesture but it has a very big impact on us all.”

Alison Weir, acting headteacher, said she was proud of the children for ‘recognising the work the police do.’
