A14 eastbound between J46 in Beyton, near Bury St Edmunds, and J49 Tot Hill, closed due to flooding





A section of the A14 in Suffolk has been closed due to flooding.

National Highways East has announced the eastbound carriageway is closed between J46 Beyton, near Bury St Edmunds, and J49 Tot Hill, due to flooding, following today’s heavy rainfall.

The service is in attendance working to clear the scene.

The following diversion route has been put in place.

  • Exit the A14 at J43 St Saviours take the first exit onto the A143 towards Ixworth.
  • Continue on the A143 through Great Barton, Ixworth, Stanton, Wattisfield and Wortham to the roundabout with the A140 at Scole.
  • At the roundabout, take the third exit and continue on the A140 through Brome, Yaxley, Thornham Parva, Stoke Ash, Brockford Street and Little Stonham
  • Rejoin the A14 eastbound carriageway at J51 Beacon Hill
