A14 in Bury St Edmunds reopens after serious crash which caused major delays

The A14 has reopened after being closed for eight hours following a serious crash involving a heavy goods vehicle.
The road was closed at around 2.30am between junction 43 and 44 in Bury St Edmunds.
The eastbound carriageway reopened at around 7am and the westbound reopened just after 10am.
The crash caused major delays across the town including in Mount Road, the A134 near Nowton Park, Bedingfeld Way and Compiegne Way.
Details on the incident remain unknown but Suffolk Police said the A14 was closed while an investigation was taking place.
