Emergency services, including air ambulance, called to collision between car and bicycle in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds

One person has been taken to hospital following a collision between a bicycle and a car.

Emergency services, including police and the ambulance service, were alerted to the incident by the Jet garage, in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds, at 10.41am.

The air ambulance was also at the scene.

Part of Newmarket Road and Westley Road have been closed in both directions.

The cyclist was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The extent of their injuries is unclear.

The East of England Ambulance Service was approached for a comment.
