East Anglian Air Ambulances called out to 27 emergencies over the Christmas period, including Christmas Day, in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire

While many were snug indoors opening presents with their families, air ambulances attended dozens on emergencies over Christmas.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance charity revealed it was sent out to 27 incidents over the period spanning Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

These were in Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

The service said: "Our thoughts are with all those who needed us.

"It’s your support that ensured we could provide vital critical care. Thank you."
