St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds hosts summer fair with family activities

A cathedral in Bury St Edmunds held a summer fair over the weekend with a host of family activities.

St Edmundsbury Cathedral welcomed visitors on Saturday for a BBQ – provided by its own restaurant Pilgrim’s Kitchen – family craft activities, face painting, a treasure hunt, LEGO building, tower climbs, and Bury Fair Morris dancers gave two performances on the Cathedral Garth.

Catherine Rayson, marketing and communications manager, said: “We were thrilled to welcome a steady stream of visitors to the cathedral on Saturday for our Summer Fair and it was especially great to see new people engage with us.

“We are Suffolk’s cathedral and our building is for everyone.

“We hope that with events like the Summer Fair, the local community see the Cathedral as a space for them.”
