Runners donned their best Easter dress up over the weekend to take part in special 5k run around Thetford town.
There were 87 participants in total who ran for Run Breckland’s annual Easter Bunny Run event on Sunday.
Trustee Sharon Nash said: “We were all delighted because it was the first day for ages that there wasn’t any rain.
“It went really well. Everyone was happy. It’s so nice that people took the time to dress up because we then find that residents come to watch and then we explain to them what we’re doing. It’s not just a run, the whole purpose of Run Breckland is to persuade non-runners to get involved.”
Runners were treated to tea, coffee and hot cross buns which were donated by Tesco and everyone received a medal after the race. There was also prizes for the best dressed which was given to someone dressed as a big chicken and someone dressed as an Easter egg.
Volunteers from Bone Cancer Research manned the cloak rooms to raise money for the charity.
To those that took part, Sharon said: “I like to thank everybody for making the effort. It’s a collective thing, it’s a community thing. Every single person contributed something and you couldn’t help but smile to see it all.”
Run Breckland began in 2016 and the Easter Bunny Run has been going since 2018, with a break due to the pandemic.
Other runs on the calendar include a marathon at Euston Estate on April 30 and a 5k river run at the Jubilee Fields in Mildenhall.
