First glimpse of Bury St Edmunds light spectacular to celebrate 1000th anniversary of town's former abbey
These pictures offer the first glimpse of a spectacle of light and sound which celebrates a milestone anniversary of a lost Bury St Edmunds landmark.
The St Edmund's Weekend Spectacular light show begins today as part of the celebrations for the 1000th anniversary of the founding of the town's former abbey.
Sound and light projections onto the Norman Tower and St Edmundsbury Cathedral tower tell the story of St Edmund and the founding of the Abbey using historic images, accompanied by a light trail through the Abbey Gardens.
The 20 to 30 minute experience runs during the St Edmund's Day weekend until Sunday and has been a sell-out with 10,000 tickets snapped up.
Extra tickets were added but sold out this morning.
