Apache landing on playing field delights students at Mildenhall College Academy
On Friday, September 21, Mildenhall College Academy played host to their first ever Sixth Form festival, designed to inspire students in years 11, 12 and 13.
The MCA6 Festival, held from 9am to 3pm, had a range of visitors come into school to give students, " a taste of activities beyond the everyday curriculum," said Director, Katie Sanders-Pope.
The highlight of the day would have been the landing of an Apache helicopter on the playing field by Pilots Staff Sergeant Stu Southall and Sergeant Mackie from the Army Air Corps.
Student Luca Chadwick who marshalled the helicopter into landing said: " It was a surprise to be asked and was probably the best thing I have ever done!"
Other attractions included a session by Suffolk Wellbeing on reducing anxiety and a fitness boot camp delivered by FTC Gym.
All money raised will go towards the Sixth Form's midsummer ball.
