Appeal following spate of burglaries in Hargrave, Preston St Mary, Acton and Rattlesden




Police are appealing for witnesses following a spate of burglaries in Hargrave , Preston St Mary , Acton and Rattlesden .

Last Wednesday at 4.30am at the Green in Hargrave , an angle grinder was used to force entry into a container and take a Mountfield push along petrol mower and Stihl chainsaw. Crime ref no: 37/52561/20

Last Thursday at 1.20am in Preston St Mary, a padlock was cut and retained from a detached barn and storage area with entrance gained to the building.

The perpetrators were disturbed by an alarm and left the scene in the direction of Lavenham, in what is believed to be a black or dark coloured Ford Focus. Crime ref no: 37/52657/20

Last Thursday at 10.20pm police received reports of a group of three or four unknown offenders having smashed a window of a transit van parked in Cedar Walk, Acton.

The men forced a shed open using a pick axe and made threats to a member of the public.

Nothing was stolen and the perpetrators left the scene in a dark coloured Ford Focus. Crime ref no: 37/52859/20

Last Thursday at 12.30am, two males were seen acting suspiciously and attempting to enter a property in Baby Lane, Rattlesden.

The resident disturbed them and they left the scene. Crime ref no: 37/52646/20

At some point between last Wednesday at 9pm and Thursday 6am at a property in High Town Green, Rattlesden, a secure shed was broken into by forcing off the lock.

A chain saw and hedge strimmer were taken from inside. Crime ref no: 37/52676/20

Elsewhere, on High Town Green, a farm outbuilding was entered after an unknown vehicle rammed the door, however nothing was taken from inside. Crime ref no: 37/52716/20

On the same night, in High Town Green, a barn was broken into but nothing was stolen. Crime ref no: 37/52761/20

Detectives are particularly interested in obtaining any CCTV footage of a dark coloured Ford Focus, any information about any suspicious behaviour at the times stated or anything else that might assist the investigation.
