Crowdfunding appeal begins to help owners of The Highwaysmans guesthouse in Risby

An appeal has started to raise funds for the owners of The Highwaysmans guest house after a substantial fire last night (Thursday, June 25).

A friend of Juliet Fisher, who has run the Risby business since 2007, set out to rise £500 on Crowdfunding for the family. The target had almost been hit, at the time of writing.

It has been said the fire effected the bedrooms of five children.

The appeal starter, who did not wish to be named, said: "Yesterday family friends had a fire in their home.

"They are all thankfully safe but the fire effected the five children's bedrooms substantially.

"They've lost everything. I have started this page to raise funds to help the children to purchase new clothes and toys that they have lost."
