Bury St Edmunds defibrillator missing since incident at Flex Nightclub

A defibrillator in Bury St Edmunds town centre is still missing, having been last seen on September 1.

The potentially life-saving device, which can restart a heart in times of emergency, is kept at the arc shopping centre outside The Apex.

Bury resident Paul Hicklin, who looks after the defibrillator, said: “It was required outside Flex Nightclub in the early hours of Sunday, September 1.

“Bury Town Pastors (a Christian group who look to promote safety in the town centre late at night) returned it to the cabinet around 3am.

“It would appear the defibrillator has been taken, but the door has not been forced and the ambulance service has not logged its use.”

Mr Hicklin said he fundraised with friends and family for defibrillators in the town centre after his father died after going into cardiac arrest in 2012.
