Arc shopping centre, in Bury St Edmunds, prepares to welcome shoppers from June 15
Arc shopping centre, in Bury St Edmunds, is gearing up to welcome shoppers back from Monday.
Following the government's announcement that all non-essential stores are allowed to reopen from June 15 with the right conditions in place, the centre team has been taking steps to ensure arc is a safe environment in which to work and shop.
The centre is asking visitors to follow social distancing guidelines as closely as possible at all times.
It has installed directional and helpful signage to make it easy to understand the rules in place throughout the centre.
Measures include:
- Hand sanitiser stations at all entrances, while many centre staff will be wearing face masks and gloves.
- The number of shoppers allowed in stores will be restricted and queuing areas will be in place.
- There will be revised opening hours for many stores – check with individual stores for more information.
Stores that have confirmed they will re-open from Monday include:
- Debenhams
- H&M
- Pandora
- Peacocks
- Superdry
- River Island
- Hotel Chocolat
More shops will open daily, so check the centre’s Covid-19 website page or Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
The centre’s public toilets will remain closed initially, but this will be kept under review as lockdown restrictions are eased.
Sam Parker, centre administrator said: “We would like to thank our staff and retailers who are all working extremely hard in very challenging and unprecedented circumstances.
"In these uncertain times we look forward to welcoming the public back to arc, but we recognise the right time will be different for everyone. So, when the time is right is for you, we are ready for you."
