Armed police swoop on Bury St Edmunds town centre after man seen with suspected gun in St Andrew’s Street South




Armed police are in Bury St Edmunds town centre after a man was seen walking with a suspected gun.

Officers were called shortly after 7am to reports a man had been seen in St Andrew’s Street South carrying what was believed to be a gun.

Armed police are at the scene and are trying to find the man.

There have been no reports that anyone has been injured or threatened.

The man was white, believed to be in his late 20s, of stocky build and approximately 5ft 10ins with tattoos on his arms.

He was wearing a grey T-shirt and dark shorts.
