Arrest made after vehicle collision and failure to stop in Felixstowe
Police arrested a 54-year-old man in Felixstowe last night after a vehicle collision, failure to stop and a number of associated offences.
The incident was around 9.45pm in Manor Terrace, and involved a motorist reporting that the driver of another vehicle, a blue CW Transporter, had reversed and collided with his vehicle.
Officers attended the scene and attempted to speak with the driver, who failed to stop and hit a police vehicle, causing some damage.
A female officer left their police vehicle and attempted to stop the offending driver from speeding off.
The vehicle was stopped further down Manor Road by another police vehicle.
The man was then arrested after failing to provide a breath test and a number of associated offences and was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he remains in policy custody for questioning at this time.
No one was hurt in the incident but police are appealing for witnesses to contact them quoting crime reference 37/53222/20.
