Moreton Hall auction goes mad for hats

If Bury St Edmunds’ Market’s Mad Hatters’ Tea Party on Saturday whets your appetite for hats, pop along to Moreton Hall Community Centre at 1pm on Sunday for more.

Freelance auctioneer David Palmer holds a monthly community auction there and admits toe having a ‘run of hats’.

He is pictured with some of the hats but says there may be more because a fellow auctioneer was this week viewing a collection of military headwear which may be sent along.

David said: “The firemen’s and construction ones came from one source but we have military ones, bowlers and top hats which were from three or four sources.”
