Tickets now on sale for Bury Free Press Awards at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds

St Edmundsbury Cathedral is the setting for this year’s Bury Free Press Business Awards.

Its stained glass, statues, tapestry and paintings, telling the story of St Edmund, is certain to add a touch of majesty and magic to what promises to be a glorious evening in Bury St Edmunds.

The Bury Free Press West Suffolk Awards will feature 13 categories celebrating the best of the best in West Suffolk’s business community - with the judging phase now under way.

The awards will take place in the Nave of the Cathedral alongside the Millennium tower with its breath-taking vaulted ceiling.

Tickets are now on sale for those taking part - as well as the general business community.

Over the past decade, the Bury Free Press Business Awards has become a recognised calendar event in the business and social diary. It offers not only a chance to enjoy the award ceremony - but to meet up with colleagues and associates, old and new, from across the district.

The evening itself will begin with a welcome drink, followed by a three course meal.

Once part of the great Abbey of St Edmund, St James’ parish church became St Edmundsbury Cathedral in 1914.

The modern day Cathedral plays a key role in the town and county as a place for celebration and commemoration.

Cathedral experience manager, Sarah Friswell, said: “We are delighted to host the Bury Free Press Business Awards.

"This is such a wonderful setting - a building at the heart of the community, steeped in history and celebrating the excellence of our local businesses.”

The awards’ main sponsor is Jaynic Properties Ltd, a Bury St Edmunds-based property company focusing on land promotion and business space development in the south and east of England.

Managing director, Nic Rumsey, said: “We are pleased to support the awards for a second year running and all the more so after the extremely difficult 18 months everyone has had adapting to a new normal as a result of the pandemic.
