Moreton Hall Barbers celebrates four years of business as son and daughter join barbershop

A popular barbershop is celebrating four years of trading as both son and daughter have joined their father’s business.

Simon Dalton, 49, launched Moreton Hall Barbers in 2020 at the Moreton Hall Health Club in Mount Road, Bury St Edmunds, after developing his skills in the trade while working in the town for three years.

Simon first picked up his scissors at the age of 40 when he realised he was unhappy in his career and decided he needed a change.

After discovering his passion for barbering, he is now delighted that his son Jay, 19, and his daughter Olivia, 24, are following in his footsteps by joining the business under his wing.

Simon said: “I couldn’t be prouder - it’s one of those moments in life where you just can’t believe it, and both of them make me so proud every single day.

“After spending so many years in a job where I wasn’t really happy, it’s amazing to find a line of work with no real stresses.

“It’s just brilliant and I think Jay and Olivia must have seen how happy the job has made me for them to also get involved in it.”

Jay joined his dad’s business in 2022 while Olivia is set to join at the end of the month.

The barbershop has a strong customer base with regular customers focusing on traditional haircuts, skin fades, beard trims and hair patterns.
