A girl from Barrow has been chosen for a modelling competition after being spotted from a talent website.

Lexxis Florian, nine, who is a keen gymnast and dancer, was spotted by Model Search UK to participate in the Miss Upcoming Model UK competition on October 7.

Mother Danielle, said: “They saw her profile on the StarNow website and asked us to send them more pictures, which we did and they told us that they would like Lexxis to compete.

“She has been telling everybody about it as she is just so excited.”

The competition, which judges each participant individually on their modelling potential, will be held in Manchester, with the winner taking home £700 worth of prizes.

Lexxis’ little brother, Nova, underwent skull surgery earlier in the year and Danielle said after Lexxis and her other children helping look after him, this was a bit of good news and have even got neighbours Sue and Chris Curtin, owners of Cafe Clare in Clare, to sponsor Lexxis for the final.

She said: “It is quite really nice for Lexxis to get a bit of the limelight, we are really proud- she is an amazing little girl and really deserves it.”
