BREAKING: Newmarket double death - no-one else involved, say police
Police say no other persons were involved in the double death in Newmarket.
An investigation into the deaths of a woman and a young boy in the West Suffolk town is continuing, but at this time officers do not believe that there are any other persons involved.
Police were called just before 6pm yesterday to an address in Park Avenue.
A member of the public reported to police he had found a woman and a young boy both dead inside the premises.
Formal identification procedures have not yet taken place, but it is understood that the woman was 28 and the child was four years old.
A police cordon has remained in place around the property today.
Officers have continued with their work to determine how the pair died.
Post-mortem examinations will take place early next week - police say the deaths will remain unexplained until then.
However, based on the initial findings, detectives do not currently believe that there is any third-party involvement.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the Park Avenue area yesterday and who may have seen or heard anything that could assist the inquiry.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101, quoting reference CAD 309 of 26 April.
