Construction of the first phase of the Kingsfleet housing development, just outside of Thetford, is to begin later this month.

This part of the Thetford North Strategic Urban Extenstion (SUE) will see 343 homes built, with 51 of them being affordable homes transferred to a housing association, a centre for shops, an open space and a children's play area.

Building of the infrastructure has already begun and the building of the homes will follow shortly follow after that.

The 5,000 home development, once it is all completed, will also include three primary schools, more open spaces and community and healthcare facilities- making it one of the largest projects of its type in the UK.

The development obtained planning permission in 2016 and it is expected the new homes will go on sale in Spring 2019.
