Bury Free Press Business Awards: Closing date approaches for nominations and entries for one of the most sought-after business accolades in Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk

The closing date is approaching for nominations and entries for one of the most sought-after business accolades in Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk

After one of the toughest years in business history, the Bury Free Press is set to honour those who have not only achieved greatness but have also contributed to the community and society, too.

The Bury Free Press / West Suffolk Business Awards 2021 take place this year at St Edmundsbury Cathedral on October 15.

The awards last year had to be cancelled as the pandemic wreaked havoc across the town and region and businesses were forced to adapt to new ways of working - in terms of both day-to-day operations, and new evolutionary business models.

This year we see the results as the awards celebrate all those who, despite the times, shone above the rest, across 13 categories.

There is also a new award - The Rainbow Award - to recognise those who went above and beyond for the community in the course of their day-to day business.

The closing date for nominations and entries is August 16.

Barry Peters, editor of the Bury Free Press, and founder of the awards, said: “The business community in Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk has always been a strong one.

“Over many years, I have been constantly impressed how our businesses and business leaders move forward even in the most difficult of times.

We have seen many great entries so far for our Business Awards this year and we are making a last call for entries.

“The awards showcase the best businesses from the length and breadth of West Suffolk and are an extension of our vision to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising companies.

“Over the past 10 years, our awards have become a much sought-after accolade of achievement, an endorsement of success in business and offer exceptional marketing and PR opportunities, as well as increasing reputation in the eyes of peers and customers.

“We’ve been told, winning one, feels great, too.”

Closing date for entries is: August 16.
