Coronavirus: Abbeygate Cinema in Bury St Edmunds to close but will launch gift voucher campaign

Bury St Edmunds' Abbeygate Cinema is to close from tomorrow (March 20) - but will be launching a gift voucher campaign.

The independent cinema, in Hatter Street, will also be shutting its No.4 Restaurant & Bar 'until further notice'.

A spokesman said: "This decision has been made in light of the current COVID-19 outbreak and advice from the UK Government and Public Health England.

"We fully appreciate the way our customers have joined us at the cinema in recent weeks, during this challenging time, and we look forward to welcoming everyone again soon.

"We will be launching a gift voucher campaign in the coming days, inviting anyone who would like to continue to support the cinema during this time, to purchase gift vouchers which can be used in the future.

"We will continuously be updating our website and social media and we’d like to say thank you to our customers for their continued support and to take this opportunity to wish everyone the very best at this difficult and challenging time."
