A Bury St Edmunds fashionista has closed the fitting room door on her career after swapping retail for retirement on her 80th birthday.

Jane Peers has worked for ANNA, in Hatter Street, since it opened in 2001.

She said: “I’ve known Anna (Park) since she was born and was very friendly with her parents. My husband died a week after Anna’s father passed away so we have always been close. When she came to start in Bury she knew I was here and she asked me to work for her – I jumped at the chance.”

During her time at the shop, Jane has attended London Fashion Week, the opening of one of Anna’s stores, in King’s Road, Chelsea, and served supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

Anna Park said: “Jane has been by my side from the first day. I consider her like a member of my family.”
