Thurston Butchers and The Heart of Suffolk Distillery to host duo of ‘pop-up bar’ events in Rossá Coffee Shop
A butcher and the owners of a speakeasy-style bar have joined forces to bring a pop-up event to a Suffolk village for two nights.
The Heart of Suffolk Distillery, which run The Secret Distillery in Bury St Edmunds, has collaborated with Thurston Butchers to bring its award-winning gins and other drinks to the latter’s Rossá Coffee Shop in Thurston, on June 8 and 22.
Alastair Angus, owner of the butchers and Station Hill coffee shop, said: “When the distillery first got in touch with me about this idea I was straight on board.
“The coffee shop is currently for sale with several interested parties. However whilst we solidify the selling process it makes sense to use the space and bring something new and exciting to the village.
"I love the values and products that the Heart of Suffolk Distillery work with and I am proud to be able to provide them a fitting space for a really great pop-up"
The pop-up bar will be open 5pm to 10pm on both nights and drinks will include local spirits distilled by the Heart of Suffolk, handcrafted cocktails, beer from Humber Doucy Brewery in Bacton and Ampersand in Diss, cider from Suffolk Village Ciders in Woodbridge, and wine from Vino Gusto in Bury St Edmunds.
