The third annual Big BRO race tested 70 participants with a 24km bike ride, 4km run and 25-obstacle challenge at The Playground.

Raising funds for GeeWizz charitable trust, which helps children, young adults and their families living with a disability and those affected by cancer in Suffolk, the event costs were sponsored by Greene King.

Laura Hudson, organiser, said they had considered cancelling due to the unpredictable weather forecast, however when the threat of strong winds subsided it was decided to go ahead.

"The camaraderie was better as a result of the weather. Everyone was cheering each other on and saying 'how mad are we to be doing this in the rain'. It created a hardcore, buzzing atmosphere," said Laura.

It is estimated the event raised £3,000 for GeeWizz.
