‘Proper’ hamburgers will be available for free in Bury St Edmunds tomorrow.

The give aways are Byron’s way of celebrating its new Bury store, due to open in the arc shopping centre on September 22.

Burger fans are advised to look out for the Byron van which will be giving away ‘mini proper hamburgers’ in Charter Square from 12-4pm tomorrow (September 12).

A Byron spokeswoman said the van was a way of whetting people’s appetite ahead of the company’s big launch.

“But get there early – because when they’re gone, they’re gone,” she said.

Byron prides itself in serving proper hamburgers the way they should be.

Its founder Tom Byng told the Bury Free Press: “At Byron we concentrate on serving hamburgers the way they should be: good Scottish beef, cooked pink, with classic toppings and flavours. Plus we have an extensive craft beer list that we’re rather proud of - all chosen or brewed to go perfectly with a burger.

“It’s all about attention to detail as far as we’re concerned, and I hope that the people of Bury St Edmunds will welcome what we do as part of the great mix of eating and drinking options that the town already enjoys.”
