The distraught owner of a popular café has appealed the public: 'Please stop stealing our boob mugs.'

Ali Barker, who runs the FOLK Café in Fornham St Martin, Suffolk, has made the appeal after around 40 of the mugs, which feature hand-painted illustrations of boobs, have gone missing.

The boob mugs were specially commissioned for the café and Ali Barker fears she may have to stop using them, if they continue to go 'walkies'.

"It's been happening over the last year or so with one or two going missing at first," said Ali.

"We use them to serve customers, as well as sell them, and think some people are just putting them in their bag after having a cup of coffee or tea, and then leaving.

"The team have told me it's now getting ridiculous and so we thought we'd put out the appeal.

Ali opened FOLK Café in 2018. It offers inside and outside dining, take away, click and collect, and also live music events.

The mug illustrations were specially commissioned from artist Polly Williams, known as Pom Lette, from Woodbridge, and then handmade Lars Soendergaard, in Hoxne.

It is the second set of mugs the café has commissioned.

The first batch featured pictures of bums, some of which have also been also stolen.

"We haven't reported them going missing to the police yet and thought we would appeal to the public first," said Ali.

"They are just a bit of fun and very popular with customers, even too popular perhaps.

"If they keep going missing, we will have to stop commissioning and using them, which also unfair on the artists.

"We wanted to commission a range of body parts."
