Could you conquer the black chair nerves and be crowned a mastermind?

Hat Trick/Hindsight Productions are casting contestants for the next series of the BBC Two quiz show – Mastermind, which will be celebrating its 50th year in production this year.

Specialist subject experts and pub quiz whizzes are sought, with entry open to UK residents (including Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) aged 18 or over.

You do need some general knowledge, but producers are really interested in contestants' three specialist subjects, with the wider the range the better.

As well as regular quizzers, people who might not usually apply for a quiz show are encouraged to get involved.

Hat Trick/Hindsight wants to make programmes as inclusive as possible and to cast a diverse range of people, so is particularly interested in receiving applications from under-represented groups.

To apply, email mastermind.hth@hattrick.com or go to https://bit.ly/mastermindapplications

After an application is submitted, one of the casting team may get in touch to organise a Zoom audition, including a short general knowledge quiz and the opportunity to explain why you have chosen your specialist subjects.

The relaxed audition will only take 15-20 minutes.

Auditions are currently under way, with the heats filming in Belfast this summer (adhering to government guidance).

Applications close on May 9 at midnight, but the sooner people get their application in the better.
