The Beeches Residential Home receives Christmas hampers Walsham le Willows CEVCP School pupils

Primary school pupils are spreading Christmas cheer to residents at an Ixworth care home with homemade festive care boxes.

The Beeches Residential Home took a delivery of hampers, donated by pupils and parents of Walsham le Willows CEVCP School in Bury St Edmunds, this week.

The hampers included items such as biscuits, chocolates, crackers, soaps and puzzles, all of which put smiles on the faces of residents.

Bev Shave, deputy home manager at The Beeches, said: “Receiving gifts is always lovely, for anyone of any age, but for our residents who love to be a part of the community, these care boxes mean so much.

“Knowing that these gifts have come from young children and their families is the icing on the cake and we’d like to personally thank everyone at Walsham le Willows for the very kind gesture.”

Following the recent Government announcement regarding the pandemic, The Beeches Residential Home are following government procedures with Covid safe visiting in place.

Bev continued: “During these challenging times, it is even more important that we continue to provide engaging activities and events for our residents, and stay connected to our community. We have lots of festive fun planned and have already done lots!”

Whilst The Beeches are still welcoming new residents to the home, specific procedures in place, to continue to support families who are looking for care for a loved one, whilst minimising the risk for residents and staff.
