Six care homes, including Risby Hall and Risby Park, near Bury St Edmunds, come together for annual summer fair




A family-run group of care homes has held an event ‘filled with singing, dancing and joy’.

The Partnership in Care’s six care homes came together on June 10 for its Country Fayre, held at Risby Hall and Park Nursing Homes, near Bury St Edmunds.

This year the residents were all competing for the best theme, best homemade craft and best baked good.

The group said a great amount of thought and effort had been put in by all to create ‘a truly spectacular day filled with singing, dancing and joy’.

The themes included the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Wizard of Oz, Shrek, Grease and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The creative talents showcased included homemade fudge, photographic circles of life depicting images through the ages of those who live at Sherrington House care home, photo frames, keyrings, bracelets and soaps.

Rachel Fitton, clinical director, said: "Each time we come together as a team at events like these I am astounded by the relationships that exist.

“We support one another as friends to ensure that much-needed love and purpose is at the core of all we do. As always I cannot thank everyone enough.”

The six care homes run by the Partnership in Care are: Prince of Wales House, in Ipswich, Hazell Court, in Sudbury, Sherrington House, in Ipswich, Risby Hall and Risby Park, in Risby, and Beech House, in Halesworth.
