Cartoonist John Elson on the start of the new school term

Bury Free Press cartoonist John Elson this week reflects on the start of the new school term.

Hopefully, John's drawing was not a true picture of how teachers felt!

Let's hope everyone –pupils and staff - are happy to be back after the summer break

John, a self-taught artist, has been drawing cartoons for newspapers for nearly 20 years.

He draws the cartoons digitally using a stylus and large art tablet.

He also attends festivals, weddings and corporate events drawing live caricatures.
