St Edmundsbury Cathedral to stream Suffolk Day services on Facebook
St Edmundsbury Cathedral is marking Suffolk Day with two services to be streamed on its Facebook page.
The Bury St Edmunds cathedral will stream the services at 10am and 3.30pm on Sunday, June 21.
The cathedral is currently only open for private prayer with congregations not yet able to gather.
Sarah Friswell, the cathedral's PR manager, said: “Even though we can only be open for private prayer at the moment, we hope that before too much longer we will be able to welcome back Suffolk’s people to their cathedral.
“We are proud to be Suffolk’s Cathedral and be a place where people of the county can come to visit, worship and for special services and events."
Venerable Jeanette Gosney, Archdeacon of Suffolk, will be preaching at the morning service. There will also be George Crabbe poetry read by Ipswich Hospital Chaplain, the Reverend Matthew Ling.
Music will be provided by Debenham High School and the Cathedral’s Acting Director of Music Richard Cook. A special hymn will be sung called 'Selig Suffolk'.
