Cecil and Larter in Bury St Edmunds celebrates 50 years of working with Volvo

Cecil and Larter in Bury St Edmunds has invested over half a million pounds into their business to help maintain and develop their long term association of working with the Volvo brand that dates back over 50 years.

The massive facility upgrade at the Suffolk based car dealership includes a new reception area with a viewing window into the service centre.

It also houses a contemporary showroom that has photos and memorabilia celebrating the company’s history dating back to 1927 and new technology has been installed to make the customer experience more relaxed and comfortable.

Owner of the business, Ray Cawston, said: “This significant investment and massive upgrade is all about creating a motoring experience of the future for our customers.

“It solidifies our proud history, operating in Bury St Edmunds for almost a century and working with Volvo for more than half of that time, over 50 years.

“The business is expanding all the time and whilst our Volvo heritage will extend well into the future, we will also be housing other premium vehicles in our new showroom. Furthermore, we will continue to offer top of the range service options in state-of-the-art facilities.”

“Another crucial part of the reasoning behind the revamp is to invest in the future, this in turn helps us to protect the jobs of our loyal staff,” he added.

In addition to their work with Volvo and other brands, Cecil and Larter continues to work with SEAT. The company heavily invested in the SEAT side of the business two years ago and sales of these models continue to prove very popular to the business’s ever expanding customer base.
