Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie to install new gates at Brettenham home due to 'increasing' incidents of trespassing
Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are to install new gates at their Suffolk home for their privacy and security after 'increasing' incidents of trespassers gaining access to their property.
The couple, who recently welcomed a baby boy, are seeking permission for two pairs of entrance gates at their historic farmhouse in Brettenham.
The plans submitted to Babergh District Council said since they bought the Grade II listed property in 2017, their privacy and security had been 'continuously breached not in order to view the architectural and historic merits of the building, but purely from an unwelcome and intrusive desire to observe' the pair.
A design and access statement said while the celebrity couple 'understand they generate a considerable amount of interest', there have been 'increasing incidents of unwelcome and unsolicited people coming onto to the property', both on foot and in vehicles as well as loitering on the road outside.
The statement said: "The owners have a right to their privacy and quiet enjoyment of their property without intrusion."
It said two pairs of gates at the property currently offer limited privacy and security and they want to install solid oak gates.
They statement added: "This will achieve an improved level of privacy and security for the occupants and help to minimise the constant invasion of that privacy."
Last year, the couple gained planning permission to install a new heating system, siting of oil tanks and repairs to timber frame and panels to address previous works and damp issues, at their rural home.
