The Green Light Trust, based in Lawshall, near Bury St Edmunds, starts ‘Green Light, Green Future: The £100k Challenge’
A charity which helps people with additional needs and poor wellbeing has launched an initiative to raise £100,000 by the end of the year.
The Green Light Trust, based in Lawshall, has started its ‘Green Light, Green Future: The £100k Challenge’ to fund its work to support hundreds of people facing challenges in Suffolk and Norfolk.
The programme is open to any forms of fund-raising, and the team at the charity is asking local organisations, group and individuals to get involved.
This can be donating money, time, equipment or their own fund-raising activities. The charity provides education and wellbeing programmes, working with people facing challenging circumstances to help them recover, develop and be the best version of themselves.
Lauren Shand, chief executive of Green Light Trust, said: “Last year we held our first-ever fundraising event and I was amazed by the generosity and support from everyone who wanted to support our mission.
“Building on that incredible effort, we’re now asking even more people to get involved and help us raise the funds we need to keep making a difference in a time that’s tough for many.”
“I know the people of Suffolk and Norfolk care deeply about the planet and improving life chances for people in their communities. Whether you can give five pounds or five hundred, your support will have a real impact.”
The charity has suggested wear green to work days and selling handmade crafts as potential fund-raising ideas.
A spokesperson for Gascoynes, a long time corporate supporter of the Green Loght Trust, said: “At Gascoynes, we want to give back to our local communities which is why we have a proud partnership with the Green Light Trust (GLT).
“The majority of our staff and customers live and work locally and the work GLT does with nature is brilliant. The way they help people who have poor wellbeing and/or barriers to progress and need support to rebuild and refocus their lives is something we are truly supportive of.”
