Cheers to brewery and Bury St Edmunds pub

It was raised glasses all around with successes for a Bury St Edmunds pub and a West Suffolk brewery.

The One Bull in Bury St Edmunds has come runner up for best community category in The Telegraph’s and Sawday’s pub of the year contest, after a fire caused extensive damage to the pub in 2017.

David Marjoram, joint owner of the pub, said: “It’s been a tough 18 months, we have worked hard to get the pub back as quickly as possible.”

Meanwhile, the Campaign for Real Ale announced the winning beers at its ale and cider festival, held earlier this month.

The Brewshed, in Ingham, also owned by David, scooped two prizes in the strong bitter category with its Saturn V brew commemorating this year’s lunar landing anniversary.

Andrew Copping, brewery manager, said: “This is great news for us and a real honour that we should have been chosen by local beer drinkers.”
