Chicken association's cheque boosts Catch 22 mentoring
An organisation working with young offenders has received a cheque for almost half its annual running costs.
On Monday Philip Hammond, chairman of the Norfolk Chicken Association, presented Catch 22 with a £5,000 cheque to help fund its West Suffolk Mentoring Programme for young people.
The association raised the money at an annual event it holds to raise money for local charities.
Louise Barnett, Catch 22's mentoring coordinator, said: "We struggle each year to find funds so the £5,000 is practically half a year's money for us. It's really beneficial to us and the young people we mentor."
The programme's volunteer mentors work with youngsters aged from 10 to 18 from in and around Bury St Edmunds.
