Christmas day 2019 was a special one for Eileen Anderson, of Stanton, as the date also marked her 100th birthday.
The Ashmore Nursing Home resident was born in Ipswich but moved to Newcastle on her second marriage following her husband’s death during World War Two.
Eileen moved to Stanton to be closer to family in 2003, said her niece Pat Hills.
“She is always very cheerful and has never been a great worrier, which could be why she has lived so long,” said Pat.
“She’s been truly spoiled at her tea party. She’s been telling people for years that she’s 100 and we’ve always said ‘not yet’, but now she is.”
