Circus performers from Academy of Movement wow crowds with stunts in arc Shopping Centre, Bury St Edmunds
A troupe of circus performers brought excitement to a Suffolk shopping centre today by showcasing their skills in the heart of town.
The team from The Academy of Movement, a circus skills, gymnastics, aerial and acro-dance school based in Bury St Edmunds, are performing in the arc Shopping Centre today to help promote classes and upcoming events.
Ben Branson, the academy’s founder and Guinness World Record-holder for the most consecutive backflips on spring-loaded stilts, wowed onlookers with his stunts and the group will be performing until 2pm today.
The Academy of Movement, which recently relocated to 1a Boldero Road on the Moreton Hall industrial estate near Matalan, has more than 300 students through a variety of classes, workshops and camps.
Families are invited to a free Halloween event on Thursday at the school from 5pm to 7pm which will feature acrobatic displays, aerialists, and stilt walkers — along with 100 free goodie bags for trick-or-treaters.
There are also still spaces available for the group’s half-term classes, including Halloween-themed half-days, an Aerial and Acrobatics Camp, and a Halloween Disco.
These activities are designed for children aged five to 16 and for more details, visit www.academyofmovement.co.uk/camps.
