Classic car enthusiasts turn out to support animal rehoming centre

Classic car enthusiasts turned out in force to support animal rehoming.

Around 15 owners arrived for a classic car event in Tostock last Sunday afternoon.

The show took place on the village green opposite The Gardeners pub and raised money for the Blue Cross charity, which runs animal rehoming centres.

“Like many others, the charity has struggled during lockdown,” said organiser Eamonn Harvey, who lives in Rougham.

“I had been to one of the centres looking for a dog and the people there were fantastic.

"Charlie Watts, the Rolling Stones’ drummer is also a patron of the charity and I have always been a Stones fan, too.

“The best on display was won by a Porsche 924s and there were plenty of others including an Aston Martin DBS, a couple of E-Type Jags, and an old Bristol 403.

“The owners paid £10 each to come, which raised £150, with more money still coming in.”
